Pictures are up as well as a bit about my new car. :)

I originally owned a blue 2000 Chevy Blazer LS, but after three rather severe electrical problems and guzzling gas at around 18MPG, I took a loss and traded it in for a 2001 Saturn SL2 from Saturn of Plano. If you want to know the particulars of the car, look here.

The buying experience was very pleasant, except waiting for the results of the financing to come back. An outgoing person I'm not, at least not in public when being a spectacle, so the stories about the whole dealership getting together to see you off were a little worrisome to me, in that I like to buy a vehicle, thank the salesperson, and drive off to enjoy it. That didn't happen here, though everyone involved in the process shook my hand on the way out. They're definitely nice people.

My car runs very well, and is quite smooth and quiet on the roads. It came with an AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo that produces very good audio for a factory system. So far, the only gripe I have about it over the Blazer is that the keyless remote won't work while the ignition is running, which was very handy for warming up the Blazer on these cold mornings. Oh well, nothing an extra key can't solve.

All in all, a good purchase at $16,604. Even after adding in the costs of the roll-over, taxes, fees and the 6 year/100,000 mile warranty, my payments over 60 months are only $415.17, which means I actually own the car when I'm done paying for it. :) Such a nice feeling to not have a mileage cap anymore like I used to. As for insurance costs, GEICO cut my premium by $30/month when I swapped the Blazer for the Saturn, but I only saved $15 because I added some extra coverages.

Headroom is very excellent, as I'm 6'4" tall, and can fit rather comfortably in both front seats. The accelerator pedal is a little lighter than I'd prefer, as I'm starting to strain a calf muscle having to hold my foot off of it to keep a constant speed, but I should adapt very quickly. It definitely does not have the leg room my Blazer did, but for an average 10MPG increase, better driveability, and less overall purchase price, that extra couple of inches was more than earned.

If you have questions about my Saturn, or about car-buying in general, feel free to e-mail me and we can chat about where you might ought to go next. :)
